Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the catering team within the position of Sous Chef.

The successful candidate will work alongside a brigade of eight full-time chefs led by Head Chef, through to Executive Chef. The team strives to deliver innovative food design over a range of cuisines, service styles and varied catering numbers for MCC Members, corporate clients, private events and cricket related match days. Our aim is to maintain the high standards that are expected by our guests at Lord's.

The duties vary greatly day to day from small, private events up to international matches. The successful candidate will manage and develop both our employees' and casual team's creative styles through the production team. The role is production led with occasional office duties and time management planning. The successful candidate will work alongside the senior kitchen team and office in producing and delivering seasonal menus, ensuring adherence to MCC and legislative hygiene and safety standards.

Essential Skills

A passion for food and driving a team
Calm, self-motivated, open minded, innovative
Knowledge of current food trends
Strong organisation and delegation skills
Experience in a fine dining environment and working at a multi-site operation
Managing a multi-cultural and diverse team
Working knowledge of budgets, stock taking, stock control and forward planning
Development of staff through training and management
Strong communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
Significant flexibility is required for attendance on match days and working extended hours, including weekends.
