The career opportunity
Glaslyn is an independent and established family business based in Beddgelert, Snowdonia National park since 1970. We are well known for our award-winning ice cream and hand-stretched stone-baked pizzas.
We are looking to develop the pizzeria arm of the business and are keen to appoint an awesome Chef / Cook who can develop the menu and take responsibility for delivering high-quality food. What will I receive?
You will be part of a growing, privately owned business, where you will receive specialist training from an Italian Pizza Expert and have the opportunity and support to flourish and develop your skills and knowledge further.
As the Chef / Cook, you will be given on-going support from our friendly and hard-working team and receive a salary in the region of £23,000 to £30,000 with the level dependent on current experience. You’ll also receive a range of benefits including;
* 30 days holiday per annum, inclusive of bank holidays (Christmas Day off)

You will be employed on a permanent contract, working full time hours, on average, 40 hours per week, 5 days out of 7. Working hours are flexible to meet the seasonal demands of the business. Additional hours worked peak season can be banked and used as extra holiday in winter.
What will this role of Chef / Cook entail?
Reporting to the Managing Director, as the Chef / Cook, you will have plenty of creative freedom and autonomy to excel. You’ll take on a wide range of duties, including;
* Managing the pizzeria, with a focus on back of house kitchen management
* Reviewing and implementing new ideas to the menu
* Monitoring and ordering food / ingredients as and when necessary
* Delivering an excellent service standard to all customers, ensuring top-quality food leaves the kitchen
* Management of the small team of up to 6 employees
* Providing support and training to new staff members that join the team
As the pizzeria develops, creating and managing seasonal events is a possibility within this role.
What will I need to be considered for this Chef / Cook vacancy?
* Professional experience as a Chef or Cook, or a graduate from catering college
* Minimum of level 2 in Food Hygiene
* Experience of managing a kitchen or a willingness and enthusiasm to learn
* Creative flair, with the ability to devise menus and seasonal events
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work well under pressure
