Assistant Manager

£22,000 - Straight Shifts - Excellent Benefits

We are currently looking for an ambitious, driven and energetic Assistant Manager to join this award winning retailer in the North of England. This is a busy restaurant and coffee shop which prides itself on the 'fresh from the farm' approach. Taste and sustainability is very important here, the focus being on fresh, local produce - this is a brand you can really be proud of. The reason for the vacancy is simply due to the volume of the business.

This is a busy, fast paced environment, which requires real attention to detail. As Assistant Manager you will train and coach the front of house team to deliver exceptional customer service in this restaurant and coffee shop environment. You will be busy from the start to the end of your shift and no two days will be the same. Working hours are between 7:30am - 11pm. There is a busy breakfast and lunch trade with evening service on Fridays and Saturdays and no split shifts.

Responsibilities include:

* Training and coaching the front of house Team Members
* Overseeing the daily front of house operation
* Hosting and providing excellent customer service, dealing with individual requests
* Serving delicious well presented fresh food and barista style hot drinks
* Delegation of duties - cleaning tables, cutlery, serving food etc.
* Complaint handling

As Assistant Manager you will work closely with the front of house team to provide exceptional customer service every time. This will involve precise planning as a pager system is used to inform customers their table is ready. You will be proactive, able to multi task and think on your feet. You will lead from the front and not be scared of hard work, with the ability to delegate whilst floating the floor to oversee the daily operation throughout both the restaurant and coffee shop. You will report to the Food and Drinks Manager and work closely with all other departments to ensure a smooth operation.

What we are looking for:

* Someone who has worked in a fast paced catering environment
* Previous supervisory or management experience
* A proven track record of training and developing people
* Excellent hosting skills and customer service
* A keen eye for detail, able to multi task and think on your feet
* Be able to plan ahead to turn tables around efficiently
* Good communication skills - reading, writing and oral
* Barista trained
