Job Title: Assistant Facilities Manager

Reporting to the offsite Senior Facilities Manager you will be responsible for the overall day to day running of the site, overseeing all service lines, Catering, Cleaning and Security with the help of supervisors in each service. You will require a strong Catering background as you will be responsible for the financial P&L, so an understanding of budgets is essential.

As a direct point of contact with the client you will be used to building and maintain relationships, acting in a proactive and professional manner with the ability to solve problems and think on your feet. Your day to day responsibilities include ensuring the site is staffed in all areas; audits and daily checks are carried out, and that the unit runs smoothly and to the agreed service level agreements in place.

Duties will include:

Managing staffing levels to agreed cost model, ensure trained cover is in place at all times

*

Staff recruitment in Catering and Cleaning, but will be supported in Security

*

Maintaining site processes and procedures for all service lines

*

Compliance with Health & Safety processes and procedures

*

You will be managing predominantly the Catering and Cleaning services; however you may be required to assist with Security

*

Ensuring the site is staffed in all areas; audits and daily checks are carried out

*

Making sure that audits and daily checks are effectively carried out

*

Ensure that the unit runs smoothly and to the agreed service level agreements in place

The successful candidate:

*

City & Guilds or equivalent in Catering

*

Level 3 Food Safety (not essential as training can be given)

*

A background in Facilities Management managing Catering and ideally Cleaning and/or Security

*

A management background of overseeing a team of at least 40 staff members across different disciplines

*

Sound financial knowledge regarding budgets, P&L accounts and stocks and staffing spends

*

A professional management style and knowledge of HR procedures including recruitment, disciplinaries and grievance hearings

*

Ability to demonstrate customer focus and to have daily meetings with the customer

*

High level of planning and organisational skills

*

Flexibility is needed as this is a 24/7 operation- including evening and weekend working

Working hours Monday to Friday 07:00am – 18:00pm, however flexibility to meet the needs of the business is essential.
