Description

Be part of an exciting new sustainable café insider Bristol Temple Meads.

* Key holder responsibilities including opening and closing down and ensuring the cafe´ is secure at all times

* Setting up and managing the cafe´ each day

* Attending & arranging team meetings as appropriate

* Willingness to attend training as appropriate

* The Assistant Cafe´ Manager oversees the team members

* Manage staff rotas, hours, holidays and wage sheets

* Ensure high levels of cleanliness and hygiene are met at all times

* Ensure that cafe´ staff provide a warm and welcoming environment and that customer service is efficient and outstanding

* Maintain excellent levels of communication with the cafe´ team and broader Bristol Temple Meads team

* Train and direct all staff

* Be responsible for cleaning rota, deep clean of cafe´ area and completion of daily records for health and safety

* Be responsible for repair and maintenance of cafe´ equipment and machinery

* Cash handling, float management and till reconciliation daily

* Staff training on till operations, and implementing till and pricing updates with the director

* Ordering and storage of food, beverages and cleaning products liaising with all team members on any additional stock changes or requirements

* Quarterly stock take

* Maintain adequate stock levels of disposables

* Be aware of Good & Proper’s licensing restrictions and train all staff in their adherence

* Be aware of laws of sale of alcohol Report all breaches to Director

Person Specification: Assistant Café Manager

* A friendly and confident demeanour

* Ability to lead a team

* Fantastic customer service skills

* Ability to communicate clearly

* Efficient and reliable

* You will need experience in managing staff, cash handling, stock control and working in a cafe´ environment, with a knowledge of food handling and hygiene along with current licensing laws.

Normal hours of work are 48 hours per week. You will work 5 shifts per week, includes weekends. You will be entitled to an unpaid break of half an hour each day. Time off in lieu may be taken in respect of hours worked over and above the normal hours by agreement with the line manager.

Cafe core opening hours: Monday – Friday 5am – 9.00pm

Saturday 6.00am – 9.00pm Sunday 7.30am – 9.00pm

Salary: £20-24K p.a. + bonus + Pension

Annual leave: In addition to public holidays, employees are entitled to 20 working days annual leave on full pay. For every year of service employees are entitled to an extra day, up to a maximum of 25 days per year.
